Choquequirao
5 days / 4 nights (T05PA6)

Choquequirao is another "lost city of the Incas" but is seldom visited. It's located high on a ridge spur almost 1500 m. above the Apurimac River . At 3050 m. above sea level. and surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains like Choqetacarpo, Yanama, Padreyoc, Huanipaca, Surusuru, Sarasara, etc Located 30 km from Cachorra village, Choquequirao may have been the place where the last Inca, Tupac Amaru, was raised among Incan Priestesses. The place was held in high regard as indicated by the characteristics of the archeological style. The remoteness and inaccessibility have discouraged visitors until fairly recently when a footbridge were constructed over the Apurimac River.
