Choquequirao to Machu Picchu
10 days / 9 nights (T10PA12)

This legendary trek takes you through the diverse wilderness of the Andes experiencing various elevations. the hike combines two of the most famous Inca sites built in the last decades of the Inca empire: first, the seldom visited and less-explored Choquequirao; then treading sacred path to Machu Picchu's magnificent stone ruins. We'll explore the mountains and the bottom of one of the deepest canyons in the world.

[Day 1-2]: Cusco to Choquequirao- See our Choquequirao Trek

[Day 3]: Rio Branco- We continue ascending 250 m. more Until the Choquequirao pass. Then we descend, visiting the Inca agricultural terraces of Pinchiyoc on the way and arriving at Rio Branco (1815 m / 6044 ft), where we camp.

[Day 4]: Mina Victoria- Heading northeast all day, ascending and enjoying the fascinating panoramic landscape. After walking around 8 hours, we reach Mina Victoria (3980 m / 13253 ft), part of the Inca mines, where condors, Andean fox, and other wildlife can sometimes be spotted.

[Day 5]: Yanama- We continue ascending for 2 hours to arrive at the Victoria pass (4510 m / 15018 ft). It is a perfect place to observe the surrounding snow capped mountains. After continuing down the other side for 2 hours we arrive at Yanama community (3370 m / 11222 ft).

[Day 6]: Collpapampa- We ascend 1160 m. more to meet the highest point on the trip Yanamaqasa pass (4575 m, 15235 ft), then we continue to arrive at Collpapampa (2750 m / 9158 ft), where you can enjoy a hot bath in the natural medicinal springs.

[Day 7]: Sawayaco- We'll have an easy day on a mostly flat trail. Here you can see the agricultural cultivations from the region like banana, coca, cocoa, coffee, and more flora and fauna from this tropical area. Then we'll camp (1950 m / 6494 ft).

[Day 8]: Patallacta- Continuing our itinerary for another easy day, we go towards Patallacta (2520 m / 8392ft), from where we will appreciate the marvellous Machupicchu far in the distance.

[Day 9]: Aguas Calientes- After 2 hours of easy walking we arrive at the hydroelectric train station, and then we will take the train to Aguas Calientes (2000 m), where you can enjoy a relaxing hot bath in the natural spring.

[Day 10]: Machu Picchu and Cusco- We will take the bus to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu for the tour. Later we return to Aguas Calientes, from which we'll travel to Cusco by train. (4 Hours)
