Vilcabamba to Espiritu Pampa
9 days / 8 nights (T09PA11)
This is a a rather strenuous hike. You go from highland (4250 m / 14153 ft) to the jungle, experiencing how the flora and fauna change, visiting archaeological places like Lucma, Rosaspata, Ņusta Hispana, and villages such as Yupanca, Consevidayoc, and Vilcabamba to arrive at the lost city of the last Manco Inca, Espiritu Pampa. This is a unique and unforgettable experience of attractive Andean landscapes with high trails and ruined cities half hidden in the rainforest. The route is incredibly interesting as well as unexplored because it is one not typically tread by tourists.

passing by the high point called Malaga Pass (4250 m), and villages like Huiro,
Wayupata, Amaybamba, Cuquipata, etc. We have lunch on the way, and arrive in
the afternoon at Wancacalle where we camp (2870 m 9557 ft).
[Day 2]: Rosaspata- We will visit the archeological complex of Viqcus and Rosaspata. Then we start to hike towards Minasmoqo, where along the way you see a great variety in microclimates and enjoy a panoramic view of the landscape and some remote villages. We camp here (2870m / 9557 ft).
[Day 3]: Ututo- We start ascending for about 3 hours, until we reach the pass (4250 m / 14153 ft). Then we descend towards Mauqachacha, with the landscape changing to cloud forest vegetation. We continue down towards Ututo where we will camp (2840 m / 9457 ft). Here, you can fish.
[Day 4]: Vista Alegre- We continue descending along a really rough trail for 7 hours close to the Mauqachaca river. You will experience different tropical climes and arrive to camp at Vista Alegre (1950 m / 6494 ft).
[Day 5]: Concevidayoc- We leave our camp to continue our descent for about 7 hours, passing a couple of wooden bridges and enjoying the special flora and fauna from the area until we arrive at Concevidayoc community where we camp (1800 m / 5994 ft).
[Day 6]: Espiritu Pampa- After 3 Hours walking we will arrive at the mysteries city of the Incas and archaeological site of Espiritu Pampa.
