This is our best trip combination! It combines an Inca Trail trek to the mystical city of Machu Picchu with 3 nights in the Amazon jungle. It will also include a tour on the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. This adventure combines three great regions of Peru giving you a panoramic view of this Andean country. Trek through the Andes along the Inca Trail, explore the Amazon jungle and the native communities in the floating islands of Amantany and Taquile. Experience Peru's colorful markets and fascinating past and present cultures.

[Day 1]: Arrive in Lima - Check in to your hotel.

[Day 2]: Fly to Cusco - We will meet you when you arrive at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the core of the old Inca Empire (3,345 m. /11,150 ft.). You will have the morning free to do as you wish. In the afternoon we will tour the city, visiting the Sun Temple. We will go to the nearby archeological sites of Saqsaywaman, Quenqo and Tambomachay. We will return to the hotel in Cusco at approximately 6:30 pm.

[Day 3]: Sacred Valley - We will depart at approximately 9:00 am by bus to the sacred Valley. This tour includes a visit to explore the archeological site and colorful market in the city of Pisaq. We will then travel along the valley to the ancient Inca city of Ollantaytambo and visit the Inca fortress. We will spend the night in the Sacred Valley.

[Day 4-7]: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu - We will begin close to the Sacred river, Willcamayu, walking in the footsteps of the great Inca civilization along the Inca Trail to the sacred city of Machu Picchu. You will be well cared for by our friendly staff of guides and porters. Each day we will pass by beautiful Inca cities. The scenery changes from snow-capped mountains to lush clouded green forest. On the last day we wake early for a short walk to the Sun Gate to watch the sunrise over magnificent Machu Picchu. Like the Incas that once journeyed to the sacred city, we too are pilgrims on this inspiring exploration of this sacred city, Machu Picchu. At the end of the tour we will board a bus to Aguas Calientes village where you will have the opportunity to take a bath in the natural, medicinal hot springs. Later in the afternoon we travel by train to Cusco. "SEE OUR 4 DAY INCA TRAIL TREK PROGRAM"

[Day 8]: Exploring Cusco - Today you are free to relax and explore on your own. Travelers can go on a city tour of the churches and surrounding ruins, wander through Cusco's busy center, shop in local markets or just people watch in the Plaza de Armas. For those bursting with energy, horseback riding, mountain biking, or even whitewater rafting (Class III-IV) can be arranged. The night is yours to take in some of Cusco's varied and exciting nightlife.

[Day 9]: Cusco - Puno - We will travel by bus for approximately 9 hours to Puno. This is a spectacular ride - it crosses the 14,403 feet La Raya Pass. Try to grab a window seat and enjoy Peru's highland. On the way we will stop to explore a small Inca site and walk among a herd of llamas and alpacas.

[Days 10-11]: Lake Titicaca - In the morning a canoe will take us from the shores of the mystical Lake Titicaca. Legend has it that the first Incas rose out of its azure waters. We visit the floating islands of the Uros people and stop for the night on Amantany Island. Here we will split into small groups and overnight with local families. We will share in the hospitality of the native Quechuas and experience a short day in their lives. The second day after enjoying breakfast with our host families, we will make our way back to Puno, arriving at approximately 4:00 pm.

[Days 12-14]: Amazon Jungle - In the morning we will transfer to Juliaca's airport for a short flight from the Andes into the lowlands of the Amazon jungle to Puerto Maldonado. We will then travel by motorized canoe to our lodge in Tambopata. This area holds the word record for the most bird sightings. After exploring the jungle and some intense wildlife observation we will return to Puerto Maldonado. We will then transfer to the local airport for the flight to Lima.

[Day 15]: Return to Airport - Fly home from Lima.
