This tour includes the capital of the Incas' empire, Cusco, and visiting the legendary Inca town of Machu Picchu. We will travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, as well as experiencing Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. We will also explore the awesome natural sites of the jungle.

[Day 1]: Arrive in Lima - Check in to your hotel.

[Day 2]: Fly to Cusco - We will meet you when you arrive at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the core of the old Inca Empire (3,345 m. /11,150 ft.). You will have the morning free to do as you wish. In the afternoon we will tour the city, visiting the Sun Temple. We will go to the nearby archeological sites of Saqsaywaman, Quenqo and Tambomachay. We will return to the hotel in Cusco at approximately 6:30 pm.

[Day 3]: Sacred Valley - At 9:00 am we will begin our travel towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas and continue to the quiet little town of Pisaq. On Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays there is a picturesque market to visit in Pisaq and we will also tour the archeological sites in the city. We will continue through the Urubamba Valley to visit the small town of Ollantaytambo. This town is on impressive landscape on a hill surrounded by an Inca complex. Late afternoon we will return to Cusco.

[Day 4]: Machu Picchu - We will leave early in the morning for a 4 hour train ride to Machu Picchu. You will have a 2 hour guided tour and after that free time to explore the Lost Citadel of the Incas. We will return to Cusco by train to arrive at night and transfer you back to your hotel.

[Day 5]: Exploring Cusco - Today you are free to relax and explore on your own. Travelers can go on a city tour of the churches and surrounding ruins, wander through Cusco's busy center, shop in local markets or just people watch in the Plaza de Armas. For those bursting with energy, horseback riding, mountain biking, or even whitewater rafting (Class III-IV) can be arranged. The night is yours to take in some of Cusco's varied and exciting nightlife.

[Day 6-8]: Cusco - Puerto Maldonado - We will transfer you from your hotel to the airport to board a flight to Puerto Maldonado in the rainforest of South Eastern Peru. We will transfer you from the airport to the lodge you will be staying at. You will be experiencing an exceptional rainforest experience with walks through trails in the forest led by naturalist guides, night time excursions in dug-out canoes, float rides to watch fauna along the shoreline and in the layers of the canopy. All meals are included as well as transportation in vehicles and canoes.

[Day 9]: Maldonado – Cusco - We will transfer you in the morning from the lodge to the airport to board the airplane back to Cusco. When we arrive in Cusco you will be brought back to the hotel and the remainder of the day is free to explore the city. Lunch and dinner is not included.

[Day 10]: Cusco - Puno - We will travel by bus for approximately 6 hours to Puno. We will have an English speaking guide who will explain the places of interest that we stop and visit along the route. Along the way you will see herds of llamas and alpaca and local farmers in traditional dress. A buffet lunch will be provided. We will arrive back to Puno at approximately 5:00 pm and transfer you back to your hotel.

[Day 11]: Lake Titicaca - We will pick you up after breakfast from your hotel and transport you to the port of Puno. You will board a motor launch and accompanied by a local guide you will enjoy the beauty of Lake Titicaca. You will arrive at the floating islands called Uros. We will continue riding for 3 hours until we reach Taquile Island in the afternoon. It will be a short walk to the Temple of Father Earth (Pachatata). We will then have dinner in a local family home and enjoy musicians playing local music. We will spend the night with local families.

[Day 12]: Taquile – Puno - We will visit the island's main village and view the pre-Incan sites. Midday we will return to Puno arriving approximately 3:00 pm. You can then have the rest of the afternoon to visit local handicraft markets to shop for traditional textiles from llama and alpaca wool. You will have an opportunity to purchase gifts from our wonderful Incan craftspeople.

[Day 13]: Fly to Lima - We will transfer you to the airport in the morning for your flight to Lima.

[Day 14]: Return to Airport - Fly home from Lima.
