CUSCO, SACRED VALLEY TREK, MACHU PICCHU

The perfect combination tours for people interested in knowing about the Highland in Peru and the heart of the Inca empire. It includes a five day trek to Machu Picchu and the Puma City.
[Day 1]: Arrive in Lima - Check in to your hotel.
[Day 2]: Fly to Cusco - We will meet you when you arrive at the airport and transfer you to your hotel
in the core of the old Inca Empire (3,345 m. /11,150 ft.). You will have the
morning free to do as you wish. In the afternoon we will tour the city, visiting
the Sun Temple. We will go to the nearby archeological sites of Saqsaywaman,
Quenqo and Tambomachay. We will return to the hotel in Cusco at approximately
6:30 pm.
[Day 3-7]: Sacred Valley Mountain Trek - We will take a route through Andean and rugged mountain terrain with exceptional view of snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes. You will have an opportunity to visit family homes and see the Quechua way of life in their charming communities. It will be most interesting to view and admire their weavings and observe their methods of agricultural production. We will trek into remote areas where we may see isolated small herds of llamas and alpacas roaming amid a patchwork of small cultivated fields. As we hike we will have a chance to see the customs of a farming system that survives to this day and hike along a ridge overlooking the Andean fertile valleys. [Day 8]: Machu Picchu - After breakfast we travel by train for 2 hours to Aguas Calientes. We will then take the bus for approximately 25 mn to the archeological citadel of the lost city of the Incas, Macchu Picchu. We will tour the city for 2 hours. In the afternoon we have free time to come back to Aguas Calientes and overnight at the hotel.
[Day 9]: Sacred Valley - Early in the morning we will leave by train to visit the Inca city of Ollantaytambo. We will then continue by bus to explore the archeological site and the traditional artesian market in the city of Pisaq. We will then drive back to Cusco.
[Day 10]: Exploring Cusco - Today you are free to relax and explore on your own. Travelers can go on a city tour of the churches and surrounding ruins, wander through Cusco's busy center, shop in local markets or just people watch in the Plaza de Armas. For those bursting with energy, horseback riding, mountain biking, or even whitewater rafting (Class III-IV) can be arranged. The night is yours to take in some of Cusco's varied and exciting nightlife.
[Day 11]: Fly to Lima - We will transfer you to the airport in the morning for your flight to Lima.
[Day 12]: Return to Airport - Fly home from Lima.
